Final words of Hazrat Ameer Muawiؓya

¹Makhul reported that when Ameer Muawؓiya (died. 671) was on his deathbed, he called his children and wife and said to them bring that special chest, they brought it out, it was locked. Makhul said we thought it contained diamonds. 

 Muawiyؓa said, “I have treasured this until today, open it!” When we opened it, there were 3 pieces of cloth. Muawiya said, “this is the shirt of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, this is the cloak he wore on the farewell pilgrimage, I also asked him to give me the loincloth he was wearing, so he said when I go home I will send It to you. He then sent it to me. 

Then one day when he was having his hair cut, I asked ‘please give me these hairs’, he said ‘take them Muawiya’. 

So, when I die, shroud me in the shirt of the Messenger ﷺ, and cover me with his cloak, and scatter the Messenger’s ﷺ hair. over me, put them on my face and over my chest, it will attract the kindness of my Kind Lord ﷻ”.

Shams ibn 'Abd Manaf ibn QasI al-Qurayshl al-Umawl accepted Islam
during the Year of the Conquest of Makkah, and he did so before his father. He was a scribe of the Prophet Many of his narrations of hadith are found in the two Sahihs and other books. He was noble and patient, and one of the astutest men amongst the Arabs. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab made him the administrator over al-Sham. ‘Uthman also gave him this role and during his life many conquests took place. When the Caliphate shifted to Amir al-Mu’mineen 'Ali ؓ  he removed him from his position. Fierce fighting erupted between these two parties. Then arbitration took place and many events happened afterwards until al-Hasan ibn 'All relinquished his right to the Caliphate to him. After this there were many conquests. Then he selected hiss on Yazid as his successor, a decision not agreed upon by the major Companions. He passed away during the year 60H and was buried in Damascus, the exact location of which is differed upon.

Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique RAH about his shroud.

It was narrated to us by Abu al-Qasim 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al- AzIz al-BaghawI [1]that Ibn Abl Mulaykah[2  ] narrated  that Aishah R.A said , “My father told me: In what did you shroud the Mes-senger of Allah ﷺ?’  I replied that we shrouded him in three pieces of clothing.   He said, ‘Take these two clothes of mine and wash them— both of which were dyed in a reddish colour—and buy me a third piece of clothing but make sure it is not expensive.  I replied,‘O father, We are well off so we can buy an expensive one.   He said, ‘O daughter, the living is worthier of wearing new garments than the dead.
