Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique RAH about his shroud.

It was narrated to us by Abu al-Qasim 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al- AzIz al-BaghawI [1]that Ibn Abl Mulaykah[2
] narrated

that Aishah R.A said, “My father told me:

In what did you shroud the Mes-senger of Allah ﷺ?’
I replied that we shrouded him in three pieces of clothing.

He said, ‘Take these two clothes of mine and wash them— both of which were dyed in a reddish colour—and buy me a third piece of clothing but make sure it is not expensive.

I replied,‘O father, We are well off so we can buy an expensive one.

He said, ‘O daughter, the living is worthier of wearing new garments than the dead. Shroud is for nothing but oozing water and pus.

 Allah knows best!
