‘I shall not lengthen my speech so that it is easier for you to remember it. Allah and His righteous slaves rejoice for two things and there are two things He and His righteous slaves resent.
As for the former, they are:
To testify (لا إله إلا الله ) that there is none worthy of worship except Allah.
Indeed, if the sky and the earth and the creations in between them were to become one solid unit, it would break it, and if it is placed on one side of a balance, it would make the side it is in heavier than the other, [and the other thing is سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ ] ‘glorified be Allah and to Him is all praise.’
This is the prayer of the creation and they are provided sustenance for uttering it.
As for the two things Allah and His righteous slaves resent, they are: shirk (associating partners with Allah) and kibr (vanity).”
One of the Companions asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, verily I love to have the best ride and eat soft food. I love the coil of my whip and the front part of my shoe. Is this considered vanity?’ He replied, ‘No, vanity is denial of truth and belittling of people.’”
